You don’t have to look far to find the name of Jesus being used as a rallying cry for things that look nothing like Jesus. His name gets connected to systems that harm hurting people, when he spent his life healing others; his name gets weaponized to justify violence, when he taught love; and his name gets claimed by movements of exclusion when he practiced radical inclusion.

During the next several weeks, we’re going to explore common misunderstandings about Jesus and what he taught, and why he continues to be misunderstood today. Along the way, we will be invited to follow the Jesus who brings peace, hope, and love.
